Abstract
A study was carried out with the objective of evaluating the effectiveness of labiaplasty to reduce the labia minora using a simple incision technique with CO2 laser. As mythology, it was a descriptive, non-experimental, field, investigation, through a series of cases in which the simple incision technique with CO2 laser will be performed and evaluated on 15 patients from the private consultation carried out at the Clinic of the woman Dr. Harry Henríquez, La Vega, Dominican Republic, after signing an informed consent and who will be followed up during the study period. Within the ages of greatest predominance was 20-30 years with 40%, followed by ages 31-40 years 27% and ages 41-50 years being the lowest with 20%. In the variants taken into account and their results, the educational level of the treated patients was university level with 93%, the number of pregnancies from 1 to 2 pregnancies, the greatest route of pregnancy was vaginal with 67%. The patients were dissatisfied with their genitals in 73% of the cases. 33% respectively reported discomfort towards the labia minora when wearing underwear, walking and sitting. The highest degree of hypertrophy was type III corresponding to the third posterior form, called “complete” with 47%. Of the patients, only one presented 3 post-surgical complications, of which 7% wound dehiscence, 7% hematomas and 7% required surgical reintervention. Through the assessment of healing through Vancouver, 5 patients presented alterations in the healing phase, taking as notoriety one who presented a total of 11 after performing the procedure. The degree of patient satisfaction was 93% very satisfied.
