Resumen

El cuello desempeña un papel clave en la percepción estética del envejecimiento, lo que La luz pulsada intensa (IPL) ha sido ampliamente estudiada en el tratamiento del fotoenvejecimiento en fototipos oscuros y diversas etnias, especialmente en población asiática; sin embargo, la evidencia en piel latina es limitada. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la eficacia del tratamiento con IPL en mujeres colombianas con fotoenvejecimiento facial. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal basado en historias clínicas de 63 pacientes tratadas con IPL sola o en combinación con otras terapias lumínicas. La mejoría clínica fue valorada por dos investigadores independientes, cegados a la intervención, y se calcularon promedios globales de mejoría según tipo de tratamiento y fototipo cutáneo. Los resultados mostraron que el uso de IPL, sola o combinada con láser Nd: YAG, produjo una mejoría significativa en líneas finas, arrugas profundas, pigmentación irregular, eritema, telangiectasias, laxitud y apariencia global en pacientes latinoamericanas con fototipos II a V. En conclusión, la IPL constituye una herramienta terapéutica eficaz y segura para el rejuvenecimiento facial en mujeres latinoamericanas, con impacto positivo en la calidad de vida y escasos efectos adversos
