Abstract
Several factors contribute to post-acne scar formation and mixed epidermal lesions, making it essential to consider combined approaches instead of monotherapies for improved results. This case series study with a split-face design evaluated the combined therapy effect of fractional Er:YAG 2940 nm and long-pulse Nd:YAG 1064 nm on the right hemiface, and fractional Er:YAG 2940 nm with micropulsed Nd:YAG 1064 nm on the left hemiface. Eight patients were assessed using the global quantitative acne scar classification scale before, during, and after treatment, with an average age of 29 ± 9 years, mostly women (62.5%), and phototype IV (37.5%). Significant improvements of 59.9% on the right hemiface and 59.1% on the left were observed, with no statistical differences between protocols. In conclusion, both treatments are safe and effective for progressively reducing mild to moderate post-acne scar severity.
