Abstract

One of the most frequent pathologies in adults is nocturnal snoring accompanied by sleep apnea, which brings with it many complications at the cardiovascular, neurological and metabolic system level. The aim of this study was to determine the efficacy of dual therapy with Nd:YAG and Erbium:YAG laser platforms in Venezuelan patients who snore regularly during sleep, in order to evaluate the changes in the anatomy and patency of the airway. Prospective quasi-experimental research with clinical case report was carried out at the Tendencia Body Clinic in Maracaibo - Venezuela, complying with the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the same. A total of five clinical cases were reported, in which positive results were observed for the patients, with a classification for some of them by means of the Mallanpati scale before the procedure of grade IV and after the procedure with a significant improvement of Mallanpati II. To conclude, it was determined that the dual protocol with both laser platforms is safe, effective and painless. It is minimally invasive and does not require preparation for it.
