Abstract
In order to determine the effect of the 980 nm Diode Laser in the treatment of vulvar, vestibular and perianal condylomatosis, a case study was carried out in three patients who attended the Gynecological consultation at the “Leopoldo Aguerrevere” Maternity Clinic Center between February and August 2020. The patients shared characteristics such as age, skin phototype, type, size, number and location of lesions, response to treatment, and side effects. Regarding the skin phototypes seen, phototype II, IV and V were found. Before treatment, 66.7% of all the lesions in the three patients had bunches of grapes form, one of them with 25 lesions on the right lip majora. 15 in the left labia majora and 6 in the vestibular region; in the other two patients, 15 were located in the right labia minora, 25 in the left labia minora, and 10 in the vestibular region, and 18 in the right labia minora, 8 in the left labia minora, and 8 in the vestibular region. Two of the patients received two sessions and one patient three sessions. The percentage of total remission of the lesions after the second session ranged between 38.0% and 100% and in the patient in whom 3 sessions were fulfilled, the remission of injuries was absolute. Given the results in the present study, it can be concluded that condylomatous lesions can be treated with a 980 nm Diode Laser, since it considerably reduces both the number and appearance of lesions and it is effective while having very few side effects.
